We’re part of Emmanuel, a church which meets near DASH – on Belmont Industrial Estate.
We believe God loves Gilesgate dearly, and it’s our privilege as followers of Jesus to show His love for people and communities around us.
We think DASH is a great part of Gilesgate and so we’re really pleased to have been involved in supporting its work for several years now.
Over that time we’ve upcycled donated furniture, sorted clothing and other donations, done gardening around Hudson House, redecorated accommodation in the Vulnerable Women’s Project and DASH-owned houses and generally tried to lend our people power where we can be of use!
One thing we particularly love doing is putting together Christmas hampers for the VWP residents each year.
We often descend on DASH on a Sunday afternoon after our church service in the morning: starting with having our lunch together, and then getting down to some work. We’ve found it’s a great way to spend time together and have fun while helping a great cause; and we’re looking forward to our friendship with DASH growing and growing.
