Salary: £20,359 P.A.

Hours: 35 hours per week on a 24/7 shift rota basis – including occasional weekend and night shift working

About the role….

If you would like to make a real difference we have an opening for an Accommodation Worker to join our team.

Each day is different in this role, you’ll maintain a safe and supportive environment keeping the residents, in this case within our project for vulnerable women, at the very heart of what you do.

As an Accommodation Worker you’ll undertake a variety of housing management duties from being the initial point of contact for occupants, to agreeing inventory, supporting with benefits claims and ensuring the areas are clean and ready for occupation.

Maintaining a safe and secure environment is key, this may even see you dealing with emergency situations.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with our women, really helping them to build on their strengths, overcome problems and support them to move towards a more independent lifestyle. You’ll do this through your respect, empathy and commitment.

About you….

As a natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will have a practical and non-judgemental approach.

Resilience is key, you will thrive under pressure and enjoy the variation of working with a challenging client group.

You will have the ability to work within policies, procedures and regulations, any knowledge of the benefits system would be an advantage.

About the role….

Worker, where empowering individuals living in our supported accommodation will be

The successful candidate would work across all DASH supported housing projects,
but primarily within our women’s 24/7 Supported Housing Service, based in the

resources functions of DASH. The successful candidate will be responsible for

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment and Onboarding
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract suitable candidates.

About you….
You will have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or
related field OR equivalent work experience.

You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and HR software and the
ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational

About the role….

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Housing & Support Worker, where empowering individuals living in our supported accommodation will be at the heart of what you do. 

Working primarily within our Hospital Discharge Service, you will be responsible for providing excellent support to our service users with multiple needs which may include mental and physical health issues, substance misuse and housing related support needs. 

You will be focussed on helping our residents to build on their strengths, overcome problems and support them to move towards a more independent lifestyle. You’ll do this through your care, respect, empathy, and commitment.

Maintaining a safe and secure environment is key, this may see you dealing with emergency situations and so you will work within H&S procedures especially regarding Risk Assessment, Safeguarding, and Lone Working.

About you….

You will be passionate about providing tailored support according to residents’ individual needs, applying the principles of Strengths-based and Trauma Informed Care.

You will have experience of support work or social care, and a knowledge and understanding of mental health issues and behaviours that challenge.

You will be an excellent communicator and advocate on behalf of our residents, working collaboratively with other agencies to gain best outcomes.

Resilience is key, you will have the ability to stay calm under pressure and work on your own initiative whilst maintaining personal and professional boundaries.

You will have the ability to work within policies, procedures, and regulations, including Safeguarding and Lone Working.  As such, you will be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check – paid for by us of course!

About the role….

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Housing & Support Worker, where empowering individuals living in our supported accommodation will be at the heart of what you do.

Working primarily within our Hospital Discharge Service, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of excellent support and enhanced housing management to our service users with multiple needs, which may include mental and physical health issues, substance misuse and housing related support needs. You will carry out Risk Assessments, Support Planning, Goal Setting and regular reviews.

You will work as part of a dedicated team of Housing and Support Workers and in the absence of the Service Manager, provide an element of team leadership to your peers.

Alongside the Service Manager, you will be responsible for processing referrals and completing assessments with potential residents. This will be done in conjunction with the hospital discharge teams at Durham’s NHS hospitals.

You will be focussed on helping our residents to build on their strengths, overcome problems and support them to move towards a more independent lifestyle. You’ll do this through your care, respect, empathy, and commitment.

Undertake Enhanced Housing Management responsibilities to DASH properties, ensuring void levels are kept to a minimum and premises are ready for occupation.   This will include assisting in ensuring properties are in a good standard of cleanliness and repair.

Maintaining a safe and secure environment is key, this may see you dealing with emergency situations and so you will work within H&S procedures especially regarding Risk Assessment, Safeguarding, and Lone Working.

About you….

You will be passionate about providing tailored support according to residents’ individual needs, applying the principles of Strengths-based and Trauma Informed Care.

You will have experience of working in the supported housing sector or a minimum of 2 years support work in a social care setting. The individuals we support have a wide range of support needs, and so you will have experience of working with people with multiple needs.

You will have a good understanding of mental health issues, substance misuse and behaviours that challenge.

You will have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and will be proficient in the use of IT including CRMs, email, and web-based applications.

You will have a flexible approach to work and be willing to cover occasional evenings/weekend working and be on the out of hours on-call rota (paid extra). Resilience is key, and you will have the ability to stay calm under pressure and work on your own initiative whilst maintaining personal and professional boundaries.

You will be committed to your own personal and professional development and be willing to undertake training and development relevant to the position.

You will have the ability to work within policies, procedures, and regulations, including Safeguarding and Lone Working. You will need to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check – paid for by us of course!

You will possess a full UK driving licence and have access to your own personal transport.

Supported Housing Concierge Worker

Salary: £19,978 pa

If you would like to make a real difference we have an opening for a Concierge Worker to join our team.

Each shift is different in this role, you’ll maintain a safe and supportive environment keeping the residents, in this case within our project for vulnerable women, at the very heart of what you do.

As a Concierge Worker you’ll be providing access to emergency/ supported accommodation for residents by providing a concierge function, including monitoring CCTV, attending and logging incidents as required and ensuring the communal areas are clean, tidy and ready to use.

Maintaining a safe and secure environment is key, this may even see you dealing with emergency situations.

You will have the opportunity to work as part of a team helping our residents to build on their strengths, overcome problems and support them to move towards a more independent lifestyle. You’ll do this through your respect, empathy and commitment.

As a natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will have a practical and non-judgemental approach.

The premises is staffed 24/7 and the Support Work Assistant’s role is to provide support on a shift rota basis which may include evenings and weekends.

About the role….

We have a rare opening for a Supported Housing Manager to join our team and make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

This is a key role for the charity and each day is different. You will lead a team of committed employees to provide support to our service users, residing in our supported accommodation and in their own tenancies. Your team will include Housing and Support Workers and employees within our Vulnerable Women’s Project including Complex Needs, Support, Concierge and Accommodation Workers.

As Supported Housing Manager, you will ensure effective housing management across all projects, including our Vulnerable Women’s Project. You will be focussed on driving improvements to our service and keeping our residents at the very heart of what you do, helping them to build on their strengths, overcome problems and support them to move towards a more independent lifestyle. You’ll do this through your care, respect, empathy and commitment and fostering these values within your team.

You will promote DASH strategically through attending external meetings, conferences and training events relating to current and anticipated homelessness issues and trends. You will be required to attend Trustee meeting and sub-committee meetings as appropriate and develop strong relationships with partner organisations and relevant agencies.
